Why are the classes so affordable?
They're taught by trainee teachers completing their international Trinity CertTESOL qualification, always supervised by expert tutors. You pay less; they get the teaching practice they need. Everybody wins.
Are trainee teachers any good?
Every class is prepared by a team of 3–4 teachers following a fixed curriculum, and an expert tutor observes and assesses most classes — probably the most-prepared lessons in Barcelona. They are trainees learning their craft though: some classes will be brilliant, some just fine. That's why the price is what it is.
How do I sign up?
1) Fill in the level-test form. 2) Our coordinator contacts you (or you pick a time in the calendar) for a 10-minute oral test. 3) We confirm your group and you start with the next cycle.
How much does it cost?
€60 per 4-week cycle with 4 hours of class a week — or €50 early bird, paying by the Thursday before the cycle starts. The Friday group (B2+, Fridays only) costs €30 (€25 early bird). No enrolment fee, no hidden costs.
Is there a contract?
No. You enrol cycle by cycle, 4 weeks at a time. Many students stay for months — because they want to, not because a contract makes them.
Do you give certificates or prepare official exams?
No and no — and we say it loud and clear before you sign up. No exams, no homework, no certificate, and the classes don't prepare you for First or IELTS. This is English for actually speaking.
Is it for complete beginners?
No. You need to have studied some English before, even if it was years ago. If you've never touched English, this format won't suit you — we'd rather tell you now than charge you first.
Do teachers really change every month?
Yes. Every 4 weeks a training cycle ends and a new international cohort arrives. The curriculum gives continuity; the teachers bring variety of accents and styles. Most students love the change.
Where are the classes?
At our school: Carrer d'Aragó 403, Entresuelo 1º, 08013 Barcelona (Eixample, near the Sagrada Família). All classes are in person.
Are there really free private classes?
Yes. Every trainee must teach one-to-one lessons as part of their course (and write a report on their student). Want one? Ask at reception. No extra cost.
